🔌 Turn off the power to the air handler at the breaker box.
⚡ Confirm the unit is fully de-energized before starting any work.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1️⃣ Access the Control Board

Remove the front panel or access panel on the air handler to expose the control board.

Usually, you’ll need to remove a few screws to open this panel.

2️⃣ Document the Wiring
-
Take clear photos of the existing wiring connections.
-
Label wires if necessary to ensure you reconnect them to the right terminals.

Check for any loose wires—some issues may be caused by a loose connection rather than a bad board.
3️⃣ Disconnect Wiring

Unplug any harness connectors attached to the control board.

For individually connected wires:

Use a screwdriver or needle-nose pliers to carefully disconnect spade terminals or screw-down connectors.

Do not yank on the wires—this could damage them.

4️⃣ Remove the Control Board

Locate the screws or plastic tabs that secure the board to the mounting bracket or panel.

Remove the screws (usually Phillips-head) or gently release the clips holding the board.

Slide the board out carefully, making sure not to damage nearby wires or components.
5️⃣ Install the New Control Board

Position the new board in place and secure it with screws or clips.

Reconnect all wiring:

Match each wire to its correct terminal using your photos and any labels you added earlier.

Double-check all connections are snug and secure.

6️⃣ Inspect Your Work

Make sure there are no loose wires or leftover screws.

Confirm that all harnesses and connectors are properly attached.
7️⃣ Restore Power

Turn the breaker back on.

Test the unit to ensure it starts up and operates correctly (fan, heating/cooling, etc.).
