How to Perform a CE Reset on Multi-Zone Systems

Important: Make sure all indoor units are turned off before starting. After completing the reset, do not operate the system or change any remote settings for 30 minutes to allow the unit to recalibrate.

CE Reset for Multi 2 Systems

1. Go to the outdoor unit and remove the panel covering the wiring compartment.

2. Inside, locate the green control board — you’ll see an LED display on the left side.

3. Near the display, find a small black button labeled SW1.

4. Press and hold the button until the display shows “CE.”

5. Once “CE” appears, release the button.

6. Reinstall the panel and wait 30 minutes before adjusting or operating the system.

CE Reset for Multi 5 Systems

1. At the outdoor unit, remove both the top cover and the front panel with the MRCOOL logo.

2. Locate the green control boards inside — find the one that has the LED display.

3. Down and to the left of the display, you’ll see a small black button.

4. Press and hold the button until the display shows “CE.”

5. When “CE” appears, release the button.

6. Reinstall the covers and wait 30 minutes before using the system or remotes.

CE Reset for Other Multi-Zone Systems

1. With all indoor units off, remove the top cover of the outdoor unit.

2. Inside, you’ll see a black box — remove its cover to access the outdoor control board.

3. Find the LED display and look for a small black button (SW1) located near it.

4. Press and hold the button until “CE” appears on the LED display.

5. Release the button once “CE” is displayed.

6. Replace all covers and allow the system to sit for 30 minutes before making any remote adjustments.
