When installing your MRCOOL system, proper handling of the refrigerant lines is crucial to ensure optimal performance and prevent damage.
-
Precharged Linesets: The precharged linesets that come attached to the air handler can be bent up to 90 degrees away from the air handler. This allows you to run the lines easily through the wall and direct them where needed during installation.
-
Other Connective Refrigerant Piping: When bending other copper refrigerant piping, it is important to maintain a minimum bend radius of 4 inches. We strongly recommend curving the line smoothly, rather than making sharp angles, to prevent damage to the pipe and ensure proper flow.
-
Repeated Bending: If you bend or extend the copper refrigerant line more than 3 times or excessively, it can become hard and difficult to manipulate. This repeated bending could cause the pipe to become brittle and ultimately lead to breakage. To avoid this, be sure to handle the copper lines with care and avoid excessive bending or stretching.
For the best performance and to maintain system integrity, always aim for smooth, gradual bends and avoid sharp angles. If you have any concerns or need guidance during installation, don't hesitate to reach out to a licensed professional or our support team for assistance.
