Depending on your thermostat and configuration, you will need to switch your thermostat to the Heat/Aux setting for the heat strip to activate. In the standard Heat setting, the unit will only use the heat pump without utilizing the heat strip. When you switch to Heat/Aux, it will engage the heat strip, providing additional heating power to help keep up with the colder temperatures.
Be sure to check your thermostat’s settings and configuration to ensure the heat strip is being used when needed.
